Even though the weather gave us a slightly cloudy, muddy afternoon, it honestly just added to the fun. Family shoots are never about perfect conditions. They’re about real moments.
Alba absolutely stole the show in her reindeer onesie and fully embraced the puddles. That’s exactly what I love during family sessions. Letting kids be themselves rather than forcing stiff poses.

Is Hessle Foreshore a good place for a relaxed family shoot?
It worked really well for Beth, Ben and Alba. We had room for a walk, river views and plenty of moments for Alba to explore. We will choose a route that suits your family and the conditions on the day.
What if our children will not stand still for photographs?
They do not need to. Alba was much more interested in puddles than posing, and that was part of the fun. We can build the session around walking, playing and being together, with a little guidance when it helps.
What should we bring for a family shoot outdoors?
Comfortable shoes, layers and a spare outfit for little ones are useful, especially if the paths are muddy. A drink or snack can help too. The aim is to keep everyone comfortable enough to enjoy the walk.
Can we book a family session without booking a wedding?
Yes. You do not need a wedding booking to enquire about family photography. Send me a little about your family, the kind of session you have in mind and any dates you are considering, and I can let you know what is available.
