A Country House Wedding at Bardney Hall in Barton Upon Humber

I’ve known Sophie and Kieren for years after photographing them several times while they were performing with Pearl’s Cab Ride. Kieren would always joke that one day I’d photograph their wedding, and a few weeks ago that day finally arrived.

They both began their wedding preparations at Bardney Hall, a beautiful country house wedding venue in Barton Upon Humber, East Yorkshire. It’s a venue full of character, with elegant interiors and plenty of natural light, perfect for relaxed, documentary style wedding photography.

Family and friends then gathered for their ceremony at St Mary’s Church before we made our way back through the streets of Barton. On the way, we couldn’t resist stopping for a photo in front of a striking pink front door that genuinely deserved its own moment. The homeowner was delighted we chose her house as a backdrop, and she wasn’t wrong. It was the best door on the street.

A Marquee Reception in the Summer Sun

Back at Bardney Hall, guests enjoyed a stunning marquee reception set on the lawn. With the sun shining, it created the perfect setting for their wedding breakfast and speeches.

Bardney Hall is such a versatile venue in East Yorkshire. From elegant indoor preparations to relaxed outdoor receptions, it offers so many options for couples wanting a day that feels personal and natural.

A Funk and Soul Evening Celebration

As the evening arrived, Sophie and Kieren surprised everyone by joining their band, Pearl’s Cab Ride, for a full set of funk and soul music. It completely lifted the energy of the night and made the celebration feel even more personal.

These are the moments I love capturing as a Yorkshire wedding photographer. Real emotion, real connection and a dance floor that genuinely feels alive.
