Some weddings just hit differently, and this was one of them. I’ve known Zach for years and used to tour with his band as their personal photographer, documenting shows across the UK. So when he asked me to photograph his wedding to Katie at The Highfield House in Driffield, it genuinely meant a lot.
The Highfield House is one of the coolest wedding venues in East Yorkshire. Every room has its own unique interior design, which makes it an absolute dream for documentary style wedding photography. From the staircase to the getting ready rooms, there were endless spots for natural, relaxed photos without ever needing to force anything.

A Personal Ceremony with Disney Soundtrack Vibes
Katie’s brother hosted the ceremony, which made it feel even more intimate and meaningful. The whole day was filled with music from Disney films and musicals, giving it that subtle fairytale energy without ever feeling over the top.
There were so many personal touches throughout the day. Katie’s bouquet was handcrafted from pages of a chosen book, which was genuinely one of the most unique floral pieces I’ve seen. It fit perfectly with the creative feel of the venue.c
Vintage Hollywood Meets Mexican Feast
For the reception, Zach and Katie leaned into a vintage Hollywood theme, styling the room themselves with table toppers inspired by their favourite films. It felt personal, thoughtful and completely them.
El Kantina kept everyone well fed with an endless spread of incredible Mexican food, and the cake, made by a close friend, was finished with a brilliant Star Wars topper. It was the perfect mix of elegant and geeky in the best possible way.
