Relaxed, documentary wedding photography
Yorkshire Wedding Photographer.
Natural wedding photographs across Yorkshire. Plenty of personality, plenty of time with your people.
Tell me about your plans01 / The person behind the camera
HI, I’M DAN.
I’m a Yorkshire wedding photographer based in Hull, covering weddings across East, North, West and South Yorkshire. My approach is relaxed and documentary led, with the day built around you enjoying it.
I’m looking for your dad trying to hold it together during the ceremony. The laughter halfway through a speech. Your mates singing along to something terrible on the dance floor. The big moments matter, but so do all those little bits in between.
You don’t need to have a barn wedding, an alternative wedding or a huge guest list to work with me. You just need to want photographs that feel like the day you actually had. Bring your people, make your plans and I’ll take it from there.

RELAXED WEDDING
PHOTOGRAPHY.
Most of the day, I’m watching what’s going on and photographing it as it happens. You won’t be asked to repeat a hug or stop a conversation for the camera.
We’ll plan a few group photographs and take around 10–15 minutes for some portraits together. A short walk, a little guidance and then back to your guests. There’s no need to know how to pose.
A few words from Becca

WEDDING VENUES.
ACROSS YORKSHIRE.

A lakeside ceremony, a stone barn or a celebration in the city. Yorkshire gives us plenty of different settings, and the best bit is seeing what each couple does with theirs.
North Yorkshire: White Syke Fields
Lauren and Ben’s wedding at White Syke Fields had garden games, a brilliant sunset and Bobby the dog making sure he was part of the celebrations. Their story is a good place to start if you’re planning a relaxed countryside wedding.
West Yorkshire: East Riddlesden Hall
At Laura and Tom’s East Riddlesden Hall wedding, the Airedale Barn, gardens and waterside paths gave us lots to work with. A quick wander for portraits meant they could spend most of the day with their guests.
East Yorkshire: the coast, countryside and city
Lewis and Guy’s Oaklands Grand Lodge wedding brought together a lakeside ceremony, Freddi the dog and a first dance in the secret forest. I also photograph celebrations in Hull and Beverley, from small town ceremonies to full days at barn and country-house venues.
South Yorkshire: something a little different
For ideas in Sheffield, have a look at my styled shoot at Church – Temple of Fun. It’s a creative shoot with Amy and Josh, rather than a real wedding, showing how a celebration in an alternative venue could look.
If your venue isn’t here, that’s absolutely fine. I’m happy photographing somewhere new. We’ll talk through the plans, look at the light on the day and make time for photographs without keeping you away from everyone for ages.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS.
Where in Yorkshire do you photograph weddings?
I’m based in Hull and cover East, North, West and South Yorkshire. You can see real weddings at White Syke Fields, East Riddlesden Hall and Oaklands Grand Lodge on this page. I’m happy to travel to a venue I haven’t photographed before too.
Do you charge extra for travelling across Yorkshire?
Travel costs may apply for venues more than two hours from HU13. Send me your venue when you enquire and I’ll confirm any travel costs before you book, so you know what’s included.
We’re not comfortable posing. Will that be a problem?
Not at all. Most of the day you’ll be with your guests while I photograph what’s happening. For portraits, we’ll have a short walk and I’ll give you a little guidance. There’s no need to arrive with poses planned or practise for the camera.
What happens if it rains?
We work with it. We can use sheltered spots, make the most of indoor light or nip outside when there’s a break. I’ll keep an eye on the conditions so you can carry on enjoying the day. There’s still plenty to photograph when everyone’s inside together.
How much does Yorkshire wedding photography cost?
Full Day coverage is £1,900. Bespoke coverage starts at £500 for two hours, with extra hours at £225 each. Bespoke is available Sunday–Thursday, excluding bank holidays, or any day when booked within three months of your wedding date, subject to availability. My pricing page has the full details.
How do we check your availability and book?
Send me your date, venue and a little about your plans using the contact form. I usually reply within 1–2 days. We can have a relaxed chat, and if you’d like to go ahead, a signed booking agreement and £300 deposit secure your date.
