You’ve put time into what you make. The recipe, the packaging, the way it arrives at the table. Your photographs should give people a feel for all of that before they’ve even tried it.

I’m Dan, a commercial photographer based in Hull. I photograph food, drinks and products for businesses across East Yorkshire and further afield, creating images for menus, websites, online shops and social media.

A new menu, a seasonal launch or a fresh set of photographs for your business. We’ll plan the shoot around what you need the images to do, then give the details the attention they deserve.

Let me know where the pictures are going. A wide website banner needs a different approach from a square social post, so we’ll plan the compositions and useful variations before the shoot.

Start with the products or dishes you want photographed, where the images will appear and any launch date you’re working towards. A rough list is absolutely fine.

For food and drink, we’ll talk about preparation, plating and the order things should be ready. For products, it helps to have clean samples, packaging and any props you want to include.

If you already work with a designer or marketing team, bring their brief along. It helps us make photographs that fit the job rather than leaving you trying to squeeze them into a layout afterwards.

Can we photograph several dishes or products in one session?

Yes. Send me an idea of the number of items and the different views you need. We’ll work out a sensible plan, allowing time for preparation and any changes between setups.

Can you photograph things at my business?

We can plan a shoot at your premises. Tell me about the space, the light and what you have available so we can agree a suitable setup.

How much does a shoot cost?

I quote for each project based on the brief, time involved and how the photographs will be used. Send over what you have in mind and I’ll come back with a tailored quote.
