I’m Dan, a Hull-based commercial photographer working with businesses across East Yorkshire and further afield. I create portraits, headshots and brand photographs for websites, business profiles and marketing.

You don’t need to arrive knowing what to do in front of the camera. I’ll give you straightforward direction and time to settle in, so the photographs feel like you rather than an exercise in holding an awkward smile.

Start with who needs photographing and where the images will go. A single profile picture needs a different plan from a website refresh with portraits, team photographs and behind-the-scenes content.

We’ll talk about a suitable location, clothing and the overall feel. Choose things that fit your work and that you feel comfortable wearing; we can discuss options if you’re unsure.

For a team shoot, we’ll agree a simple schedule and a consistent approach. That gives everyone a clear idea of what to expect and helps keep the day manageable around the business.

GOOD TO KNOW.

I don’t like having my photograph taken. Is that a problem?

It’s a very normal place to start. We’ll keep things relaxed, with straightforward direction rather than expecting you to know how to pose.

Can you photograph the whole team at our workplace?

Yes, we can plan a shoot at your workplace. Tell me how many people are involved, the space available and whether you need individual portraits, group photographs or both.

Can we include photographs of us working?

Yes. We can plan portraits alongside photographs of your team, your process and the details of your working day. We’ll agree what’s useful for your business before the shoot.
