Relaxed, documentary wedding photography
Hull Wedding
Photographer.
Your wedding. Your people. All the good stuff, without spending the day posing.
Tell me about your plans01 / A local with a camera
HI, I’M DAN.
I’m a wedding photographer based in Hull, photographing weddings across the city and East Yorkshire. My approach is relaxed and documentary led. You get on with having your wedding, and I’ll capture what happens.
The laughs during the speeches. Your mates properly going for it on the dance floor. The little moments you missed because you were busy enjoying yourself. That’s the stuff I want you to have photographs of.
I work with couples who want their day to feel like them. That might be a small Hull Guildhall ceremony, a colourful celebration on Humber Street or a full day at a countryside venue. You don’t have to fit a particular wedding style for us to get along.
Meet the person behind the camera02 / Your day, as it happens
A WEDDING.
NOT A PHOTOSHOOT.
Most of the day, I’m photographing what’s happening around you. No stopping a good moment to recreate it. No constant instructions.
We’ll make time for group photos and a short wander for portraits too. Usually around 10–15 minutes, with a little guidance if you need it. Then it’s back to your guests.

CITY STREETS.
COUNTRYSIDE.
YOUR KIND OF DAY.
One of the things I like about photographing weddings here is the variety. A city ceremony and a walk around the Fruit Market feels completely different from a day in the countryside. Both give us plenty to work with.
Getting married in Hull
For a smaller ceremony, Hull Guildhall can be the start of a really personal day. Ellie and Dave had just four guests before heading out for a wander around Humber Street.
Social on Humber Street is another favourite. You’ve got the character of the Fruit Market, colourful backdrops and the waterfront nearby. Amy and Callum made it their own with DIY details, a chippy tea and a packed dance floor.
A little further out
I also photograph weddings across East Yorkshire, including Tickton Grange near Beverley, Lazaat and Riverlands.
The setting changes, but my approach stays the same. I’ll work with the light, the weather and whatever the day brings. You don’t need to plan your wedding around the photographs.

06 / A few useful answers
BEFORE YOU ASK.
Do you only photograph weddings in Hull?
No. I’m based in Hull and photograph weddings across East Yorkshire, the rest of Yorkshire and the UK. I’m happy to hear about plans abroad too. Travel costs may apply for venues more than two hours from HU13; we’ll discuss that when you enquire.
What if we feel awkward in front of a camera?
That’s completely normal. Most of the day you’ll be busy with your guests while I photograph things as they happen. For portraits, we’ll have a short wander and I’ll give you a little guidance. Nothing complicated, and no need to know how to pose.
How long will you stay on the day?
Full Day coverage runs from morning preparations to the first dance and a little beyond if the party is in full swing. If you only need a shorter part of the day covered, have a look at the Bespoke option on my pricing page.
Can we book just a ceremony or a small wedding?
Yes. Bespoke coverage starts at £500 for two hours, with extra hours at £225 each. It’s available Sunday–Thursday, excluding bank holidays, or any day when booked within three months of your wedding date, subject to availability.
When should we get in touch?
Once you have a date and venue, feel free to check whether I’m free. Many couples book around a year to eighteen months ahead, especially for summer Saturdays. If your wedding is sooner, it’s still worth asking.
How do we book you?
Send me your date, venue and a little about your plans using the contact form. I usually reply within 1–2 days. We can have a relaxed chat, and if you’d like to go ahead, a signed booking agreement and £300 deposit secure your date.

If this feels like your kind of wedding photography, tell me what you’ve got planned. Your date, your venue, the things you’re looking forward to. I’d love to hear it.
